Amy Fiene

After receiving a Master of Science from Stanford in both Biomechanics and Mechanical Engineering, Amy managed patent approval processes as an intellectual property coordinator in California. She then graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 2010 and began work as a patent attorney for various top firms in Utah. Amy has drafted patent applications on medical and mechanical devices and has worked on legal issues involving biomechanics, mechanical engineering, computer software, mechatronics, and business methods. When not in the office, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, serving as a Community Youth Instructor in Provo, and hiking to places such as Stewart Falls.

Professional Accomplishments

Prior to becoming an attorney, Amy worked as a patent manager, where she managed a patent portfolio that included over 100 patents/applications. While I aided in drafting and prosecuting applications concerning identity theft protection, she also ensured good communication between inventors, outside counsel, and the patent office. As an an attorney Amy has helped early-stage inventors, companies, and universities prepare and prosecute various patent and trademark applications. She has consulted with examiners on a frequent basis to collaborate and achieve a meaningful scope of patent protection.
